We spend one day in Hood River, then Aaron and I jumped in the car with Chris Schey.
Schey works for Slingshot and is rep for California, he organized a little demo weekend at Sherman Island, close to San Francisco.
We had a pretty solid drive from Portland, 10hrs total or something, grabbed a hotel on the way…made it quite comfortable! ☺
I had all my new 2010 gear which I’m really stoked on, the new Darkside is definitely a good call.
It’s our new kite specific wakestyle board. More info will follow soon…
Also on the new Lunacy we freshn’d up the looks and is still rocking strong.
2010 Fuels are doing what they are supposed to do, so I’m stoked!
We just did some minor tweaks and it flies solid as.
Still super direct, consistent through the loop, good feel.
Lance Koudele and Adam Uyemera came out on the trip to shoot some pics n vids.
Didn’t really score it at Sherman and the forecast didn’t look so promising either.
We even drove down to San Fran one night and tried to check out the city, we had a little party going on.
We decided to cruise back to Hood River the next day as the wind was looking better and we really had to get the shoot done…
So on to the Gorge.
Some fun times always, good riding and maybe some snowboarding. ☺
Keep ya posted…
Peace!
Ruben

It was Aaron, Bellsy and Chucktown mr. Blair renting a house together and waiting for the right conditions.
We were all so motivated for another session on the rails.
Unfortunately the wind wasn’t with us this time, but it gave us a good opportunity to chill out and totally relax before heading out to Portland.
It was a funny trip, Bellsy was supposed to fly out the night before us but his flight got canceled.
We ended up getting a hotel room and had a few beers, then Aaron and I flew out early the next morning while Bellsy was still passed out.
We had a harsh deal with the check-in, this dude from United airlines just didn’t get it and charged us like 625bucks for our luggage.
This guy made me feel sick and I didn’t wanna argue to bad with him, so Azza just threw his creditcard down to safe us a headache.
(My wallet got stolen last week so Azza is paying it all these days ☺).
Anyways, we went on to the flight and we had an hour delay due to some technical problems, this made us miss our connection flight.
Hassle of the travel.
So now we’re in the Gorge for a day and today we drive down to California.
This is about a 9-10hr drive.
We’re going with Schey from Slingshot to do a demo weekend and a photo/filmshoot.
We’re well excited and we’ll make it a sick trip.
By the end of July I should be able to start putting out WebiZodes on Ontheloose.tv.
Take it easy.
Peace ya!
Ruben

I got a phonecall from the crew of The Kiteboarder (US kitemag) last week and they said they wanted to do a live VIDEOCAST with me.
I was stoked on that so I could do some promotion on all my new Slingshot and Mystic gear.
Recently I got all my 2010 gear in for photoshoots and filming.
Rode it all at the Triple-S and it works sweet, really loving my set-up.
Slingshot gave me the opportunity to add another pro-model board to my line.
I wanted to create a wakestyle specific kiteboard.
The Darkside came to life and rocks the rails and flats hard.
It’s a 138 x 40,5(cm) board with a sick rocker that let’s you ride upwind and pop perfectly.
It’s a bit flat in the middle and more flex and rocker on the tips.
Riding it with the PBfloyds, I’m psyching.
Also the 2010 Fuel’s killer, last year we had a really solid kite already.
So this year we only had a few minor tweaks to keep it as solid.
Stoked on that.
With Mystic they’re really pushing the limits as well, they’re just progressing and progressing with making tight products.
Got some sick new boardies, clothes and wetsuits coming out.
Anyways, check out the cast and enjoy.

Ride real hard.
