Yo guys what's going on?! Hope everyone is enjoying their lives and reaching their goals!
I've been here in the Gorge at the Slingshot HQ for the past six days now and it's been awesome. I wasn't feeling too good the first few days, but i pulled through and now everything's rocking! Slingshot invited me over to do some testing and photoshoots. I love this place and the Slingshot crew just rocks, everyone's working their hardest and it's a fun group of people to work with.
We've got boss mr. Jeff Logosz who knows what's up in this sport and what we need...Always good to have some brainstorm sessions with him and make things work. Jeff's brother Tony is the one who's the brain behind our kites, he designs our profiles and graphics. He comes up with some good stuff... Amery aka ''Dirty Hippie'' is doing the R&D, so he's the one making sure it all works and flies straight! With him i do most of the testing and after riding the latest prototypes i think we've come real close to the new 09 Fuel which feels killer. It yanks, flies quick and direct, real smooth turning and plenty of lift. That's what i was looking for, the right speed and timings on everything. That's important. Also the other crew back in the office, thanks for your support and great help to be part of such a cool company.
Also we've got in my new boards, the Lunacy's 129/132 and 135...The graphics are awesome and i'm loving this shit. For all the guys that are wondering what's happening with my new bar, the white one, it will come with the 09 Fuels! So that's awesome...just be patient, you'll dig it! It's for those who don't want too much dingle dangle safety shizzles on it, just simple and rocking!
I also got some new Lunacy's which fit the PB Floyd wakeboard boots, i've had a little go on them and it's so different to what i'm used to...The boots are heavier so all the timing and shit is different, will have to get used to that, or not! Haha...I'll definitely use boots on rails, that's the only way! But my straps are kick-ass anyways, cause you can just go as crazy as you want without having to worry about those heavy boots on your feet.
I've got some cool shit lined up, here a little schedule!
Will be home on Friday, that weekend we'll have the biggest kiteboard event in Holland at my homespot, Noordwijk. Check out Kiteboardopen.com for some info! Tuesday i'll fly together with my mate Aaron to the Red Bull KitePunks in Spain, this is a rail-event! It's gonna be good... Then i'll be flying straight to Portugal for a week, this with the crew of Mystic to shoot the new collection! One day home, then i'll fly back to the US to go ride with the boys at Real Kiteboard that are putting up the Triple S event, also a sick rail-event! After that i'll do some more things in the US and then i'll go chill at home with my buddies...Miss you guys!
Alright take care, and check out some pics in the gallery if you're interested!
Shot, Peace, Ruben

Finally there’s an update again, lots of stuff happened and even a new movie came up!
I’ve been home now for quite a while, healing the ankle, which is almost 100% again…Been seeing my friends and family! Done some design/development with the crew at Mystic! And further I’ve just been enjoying not being on a plane…☺
What my plans are for this year’s basically visit a lot of beaches and get some decent footage…So you guys can see how the tricks progress and get thrown down all over the world! At the end of May I’ll go to a cool event in Hatteras, North Carolina(USA), the Triple S, it’s an event with mad rails and kickers…check realkiteboarding.com for some info!
If you look at my friend Aaron (aaronhadlow.com) you see he’s updating his website with little clips of what he’s been up to…Awesome riding and progress is what we see! He’s leading the sport to new levels in many different ways…Aaron can megaloop in strong winds, ride really technical, ride some waves, he can ride boots and rocks it behind the cable on his wakeboard! How all-round can you be… Some people always have their own opinion/comments about style, moves and set-up…But everything can be done it’s just what the rider chooses to do at that moment/video! It’s just the thing that you’re concentrating on and having fun with, that’s how you learn and progress!
Pushing the limits has always been my thing, just harder stronger crazier…So I’ve got some plans on my mind which hopefully will go successfully! Once I wanna make a huge kiteloop over a helicopter…get some sick sequence and video shot! That would make me smile…
Ok enough BS talking, my ankle’s almost healed up to the max…So I will drive to the PKRA France on Saturday, just to check it out for a day or two! Maybe throw down one session and then head back home…
SEAT lend me a sick ass car which I’m not gonna give back anymore cause it’s just too good. That Leon makes me happy every time I see or drive it! New cars rock!
I’ve been going to the gym and pool quite a bit, it makes the body so much more ready for action!
Giving some footage to my friend Dave of kitecinema.com always turns out in a great movie…No harsh deals, just sit back and watch some good quality action with a good tune!
Aight! Catcha LTR Ruben

While the Slingshot team was rocking the beaches of South Africa...Slingshot send down a cameracrew to film our profiles! Ryan Gaw was the man...First time shooting with him was actually super mellow and we got some nice shots for the amount of time we had... Ben, Youri, Tucker, Andy, Gisela, Nick all have their profile movies out now! Check it out at Youtube.com or go to Slingshotsports.com.
I think Red Bull is coming with some profile movie soon as well!
I just wanna ride again and make some new shit!
Enjoy!

I had a great couple of months in South Africa. I was there since the 4th of December. Lots of stuff happened lots of training, we had some epic riding days. I fully enjoyed every session with South Africa's strong winds and nice waves. Moves were pulled hardest possible. Some horrific wipe-outs came with...Seeing your kite stall in front of you while you 8 meters up isn't always nice...But it's the risk factor you take when pulling your moves that makes it fun and keeps you sharp. Always eager for more after learning and landing new tricks.
I was staying in Table View which is about 20 minutes from Cape Town city center. Table View's nice, pretty mellow...I didn't get bored once, you can go surf when no wind or just hang with some friends. The parties in Cape Town also kept it interesting...
*Highlights: -42 double Spiced Gold and coke between the 4 of us. (before going out, while having dinner) -Passing out next to the car in the parking lot till others were done partying! -NYE-no-comments! -Buying a pigshead in the supermarket -Motor rider folded wrong way around looking at his heels while laying on his stomach. (Horrific accident, happens a lot in SA) -This bru telling us: Don't say no, before you know the price! Special price for you my brother from another mother.
A lot of stuff was cool, i just had an awesome time and some good training. So i'm stoked to kick off the new season full of travels, photoshoots, filming, partying, meeting people and riding hard to promote our sport in a good way. Hopefully we finally get some stuff on the television. That would be sick!
Alright take it easy, LTR Ruben

Life's been good out here, been on it! Wake up in the morning, hit the gym, score some breakfast and have mental sessions out in the beautiful conditions of South Africa. We get some lighter winds in the morning and hauling in the afternoon...Some good waves so now and then, nice sunsets every evening and good beers! Like yesterday, had a good day and i went for a nice afternoon session in front of a local bar down here, Doodles, people were enjoying watching my session... I pulled one of the biggest kiteloop ever. Got it on tape as well...Will have it out sometime soon! Check the gallery for some screengrabs of yesterday's session.
Also check out the new Slingshot sports website, good job for real! The highly anticipated slingshotsports.com website, which encompasses sskiteboarding.com and buyslingshotsports.com, is now LIVE! Log on and take a browse.
Some of the features of the site are NEW Slingshot Product Webisodes, a NEW Rider Support Section, Team Blogs/Gallery and much more!

24-12-2007, PKRA 2007 |
Here’s a cool profile movie of me, which Jeremie Lecaudey of Extreme Elements shot during the PKRA this year. I wasn’t focused on winning this year, I was just having fun and trying my best to push the sport in a powerful and sick direction. I ended up 7th place, which is alright as I didn’t do all the tour stops.
Check out the YouTube version by clicking on the link. Or surf to Extremeelements.tv, register and download the full HD.
For next year I will just keep it up with riding hard, will visit some of the PKRA tourstops and lots of beaches around the world, to meet up with new people and have good sessions. Will bring out loads of footage and keep on smiling! ☺
Thanks for the support this year. Have a good X-mas and Happy New Year.
Cheers!

After seeing the preview, which gave my buddy Dave some time to edit the full version. It's out now! The footage of hectic winds, rains, skies and action in one movie now. Check the link and download the movie... It's a pretty nice edited movie, some different kind of music...Not the latest tricks and handlepasses, but just to show how much fun a good kiteboarding session can be!
Enjoy!

While I have just left for South Africa, my friends at home, the Visual performers, have finally released their second kiteboarding DVD. It´s called Close up, I am one of the ´actors´ and it has become a pretty cool documentary on the kiteboarding sport. Check the trailer and get yours!

Being home for a while was EPIC, really enjoyed hanging out with all my mates and have fun! But now the time has come for a good trip to South Africa. I will be staying in Table View for like a month or 3, so that's plenty of time to get some killer riding captured!
Anyways, down here is a link which will lead you to the LEN10 movie serie website. As i still had some footage from a session in Brazil, my mate DAVE from Kitecinema made a nice little movie of it AGAIN! Thanks to Susi for the filming...
Take care and keep on rocking!

Here's a little preview of the footage my friend Dave shot at Ijmuiden last Friday! It was super windy and the water raised really high...Some big waves and epic light! It was too cold for technical shit so i just performed some kiteloops which feel really good when you get a strong ull and travel far.
Check it out at kitecinema.com, also have a look at hanglos.nl for some pics and comments!
Peace!
